Lilian was the daughter of Adeline Winifred de Fonseka and Richard Stewart Pieris (17.6.1858 – 23.10.1918) of ‘Broomhill’, Green Path .
Richard was the eldest son of Hennedige Jeronis Pieris & Carolina Francisca de Soysa of “The Firs”, Cinnamon Gardens. Carolina Francisca was a daughter of Warusahennedige Louis de Soysa, and a niece of Jeronis de Soysa. (TCIC pg 580).
Lilian married Edmund Perera Wijetunge, C B E, Crown Proctor, JPUM, on 1st January 1956. He was the Basnayake Nilame of the Dondra Vishnu Dewalaya from 1946 to 1958. He built a beautiful mansion “Rippleworth” on Brown’s Hill, on a cliff overlooking the Matara and Devinuwara seas, and lived there. Edmund’s parents were Mohandiram David Perera Wijetunge & Sophia De Sa Abeysekara Goonerwardene of Gandara Waluwwa.
