The family of Phillip Fernando – 1895
This picture taken around the turn of the century (Approx 1895) shows the family of Phillip Fernando of Thambarawila. Seated in the middle is Phillip Fernando and his wife Angelina Dabarera (Grand Daughter of Martha Lowe). The two ladies seated on either sides are the two daughters in laws of the two elder sons. Standing behind left to right are the sons Fredrick Fernando, Alfred Fernando the youngest (Unmarried at the time the picture was taken) and Clement Fernando, the Eldest son. The girl seated on the right may be a grand daughter of Phillip Fernando.
The others in the picture are the family servants. Behind the group could be seen the family horse and carriage.
